Schematic Design

Schematic design is the initial phase in a construction project's design process, where the designer translates the client's vision and requirements into preliminary drawings and spatial layouts. This phase focuses on developing the overall concept, spatial relationships, and basic building systems, while also considering budget, schedule, and feasibility.

Schematic design will be complete when the provisional design is approved/(formally looked at) by the contractor and client.

Design Development

Design Development builds on the approved schematic design by exploring each space in greater detail. At this stage, layouts are refined and elements such as storage, fixtures, and fittings are developed to show how spaces will function day to day. Details like internal storage layouts, material choices, and built-in features are considered alongside technical constraints such as radiator and socket positions. This process supports safer, more practical, and well-resolved design outcomes through careful collaboration and review.

Construction Documents

Construction Documents turn the final design into clear drawings and specifications for construction. They provide contractors with the information needed to price, plan, and build the project accurately, helping to reduce risk and ensure the design is delivered as intended.

Custom Additional Work

Additional artistic finishes bring a personal and creative layer to a project. This can include custom artwork, artistic consultation, and the thoughtful upcycling of existing or much-loved items. These elements help create spaces that feel unique, expressive, and connected to the people who use them.
